Diablo II: Resurrected Open Beta Detailed, Early Access Starting August 13th

Diablo II: Resurrected is gearing up for its upcoming release, and the ARPG will be hosting two tests this month, starting with its Early Access weekend coming on August 13th.

Diablo II: Resurrected is the remade version of the epic ARPG by Blizzard, releasing soon on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The Early Access starts on August 13th at 10am PDT, running through August 17th. The full Open Beta itself will run starting on August 20th last until the 23rd, providing a weekend fo data for Blizzard to work through ahead of the full launch later this year.

The beta itself will see two new classes added for testing: the Druid and Paladin classes, as well as the previously available classes in the closed Alpha that took place earlier this year. As far as the other classes, the Assassin and Necromancer will be added once the game launches, according to the open beta FAQ.

Notably absent is the Open Beta on Nintendo Switch. The FAQ doesn’t actually say why Nintendo players are excluded from the beta itself, instead offering a Heritage of Arreat transmog forDiablo III as a pre-order bonus for those players. Players who pre-orderDiablo II: Resurrected will gain access to the Early Access weekend test, while the August 20th test opens to the broader public. As this is an open beta, there won’t be any NDA to worry about, and players are able to record and create video and more.

The open beta comes amid the current ongoing lawsuit which sees Activision Blizzard sued by a California agency regarding allegations of a workplace that allowed gender descrimination and harassment to flourish. In the wake of the lawsuit, many have left the company, including Blizzard president J. Allen Brack. In his place, Jen Oneill and Mike Ybarra have been appointed as “co-leaders” of Blizzard Entertainment. Both current and former Blizzard employees have organized, calling on management to address their demands of making the workplace a more inclusive, safe, and transparent place for everyone. In the wake of the lawsuit, many have called for unionization, including ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain.

You can check out more details about the open beta on the official website, as well as see exactly when the tests will open up in your region.Diablo II:Resurrected is available starting September 23rd on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as Nintendo Switch.
