Guild Wars 2 is hosting the elite specialization beta event for End of Dragons set to begin next week. Here are the details if you want to check it out.
The elite specialization beta event begins on August 17 and runs through August 21. During that period, you’ll be able to check out three new elite specializations arriving as part of End of Dragons. As a quick reminder, End of Dragons is slated to launch in February of next year. The expansion was actually delayed from 2021 into 2022.
“As expansion development has progressed and the real-world challenges of the past year and a half have changed the way we live and work, it’s become clear that we need a little more time to deliver our creative vision for Cantha. As a result, we’re delaying the release of Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons from late 2021 to early 2022.”
As part of this elite specialization beta event, ArenaNet notes you actually don’t need to purchase End of Dragons in order to take part. You simply need to have an account. When you log in, you can select any of the three elite specialization characters and then create level 80, fully equipped characters.
However, ArenaNet notes there are some limintations in place. For one, these characters are obviously temporary. Once the event ends, they disappear. Additionally, any gameplay progress you make during the event won’t be saved. Finally, you’ll be able to play existing characters during the event.
There will be a live stream this Friday where the team will provide an in-depth preview into all three of these elite specialization beta characters set to arrive in Guild Wars 2 next year. You can check out the full details here.
